From 11 May 2024 until 02 February 2025, the Marcello Morandini Foundation will host the exhibition 'Extraordinary Geometries'.
The exhibition explores the infinite expressive possibilities of non-figurative geometry through novel combinations. Ten internationally prominent artists, each with their own distinctive visual language, contribute to a fascinating dialogue about geometric forms and their ability to transform artistic perception.
From Edgar Diehl and Peter Weber from Germany, whose works explore the dialogue between space and matter through dynamic abstract sculptures and the use of material to convey form, to Şakir Gökçebağ from Turkey, who transforms everyday objects into works of art that celebrate geometric simplicity.
Patrick Hughes from the UK revolutionises visual perception with his 'paintings in motion', works that skilfully play with optical illusion and perspective. Anna Kruhelska from Poland and Bruno Munari from Italy disentangle various media to explore themes of identity, memory and visual perception, offering unique perspectives through the innovative use of form and colour.
The exhibition journey continues with Paolo Scirpa and Martin Willing, whose work invites reflection on the universe and structure - real in one case and assumed in the other - through the beauty and complexity of geometric forms. Finally, the works of Beat Zoderer conclude the exhibition, introducing a rich variety of approaches to abstract geometry.
During the ten months of the exhibition, monthly thematic lectures will be organised by the artists themselves, during which they will discuss their works in the exhibition and explore the central theme of their art.
