For history, war, and hiking enthusiasts, this route offers the possibility to see practically intact military works of the Cadorna line, breathtaking views and hardwood forests . The well-marked route starts from the town of Viggiù (461m/1512 feet), where you can follow the tourist signs of the Cadorna line. Proceed towards the Colle Sant’Elena and continue until you meet the Monte Pravello’s signs. After the votive chapel it’s possible to park at the beginning of the Sentiero degli alpini. The path starts from here, and in a short time you find a crossroad: take the road on the left towards Monte Pravello to continue along the ridge in the wood. Monte Pravello at 1015mt/3330 feet offers a view of the beautiful panorama of lake Ceresio and the Pre-alps above Lugano.
