From Laveno Mombello, one of the most evocative and picturesque tourist centers on the Lombard shore of Lake Maggiore, you climb gently with a comfortable two-seater cableway system up almost to the top of Mount Sasso del Ferro (alt.1100m) from where you can admire the solemn silence of nature, a grandiose and enchanting view of Lake Maggiore, the Alps, the Pre-Alps, the Lombard lakes and the Po Valley. It is the ideal destination for pleasant day trips and stays in the tranquility of the green woods. It can only be reached by cable car (there is no road) and the route lasts 16 minutes where, going up, you can admire an enchanting panorama that gets wider and wider. At the arrival station are available: a bar with 100 seats, a restaurant with home cooking and local dishes with 200 seats, a playground for children and a hotel with 14 rooms equal to 56 beds because the rooms can also be from 4/5/6 people. All rooms have a bathroom, television and a large private terrace with breathtaking views. We also have a panoramic room dedicated to parties, private banquets, weddings, events, seminars and meetings.
It is a place frequented by hang gliders and paragliders, downhill bicycles and there are numerous hiking trails of various lengths and difficulties in the silence of the woods, encountering small farms producing local cheeses along the way.
