Just a few more days and the stretch of water in front of Sesto Calende will become the stage for the eagerly awaited Palio Sestese. Eight districts will be ready to do battle by paddle. The challenge between the Dragonboats, the long boats propelled by 22 people, will occupy the scene for an entire day, attracting not only curious onlookers but real fans to the Sestese shore.

Sunday morning from 10:30 a.m. will be reserved for the batteries, while the afternoon from 3 p.m. will be dedicated to the races that will decide the final classification of this twelfth edition. The highest step of the podium will be taken by the Rione that will win the final for the 1st and 2nd pulse.

The prelude to the presentation of the Palio banner will anticipate the long-awaited final plunge into the river. Tradition that wants to involve the Mayor first and foremost.

On Saturday evening at 7 pm on the pier in front of the Garibaldi obelisk and in the presence of the authorities, the pairings will be drawn.

The wait for the finals for 1st and 2nd place will be anticipated by the water parade granted to the girls of the 'Dragon Boat in rosa', a group of women who have undergone breast cancer surgery and are ready to form a crew on a 10-seater dragonboat that they have been training on since last June. A project of Sport and Health and Federcanoa that on the national territory is entrusted to selected associations including Circolo Sestese Canoa Kayak.
