The route follows surfaced roads and is almost entirely flat, although it does cross several busy roads so care must be taken. The trail starts from the sports field in Cardano al Campo and loops around over Ponte Verde and through woods of robinia, northern red oak, black cherry, hazelnut and hawthorn in an area that was the scene of many events during the Second World War, as can be seen by the remains of what was probable a kitchen in a German camp.

The route starts from the Melissa beach, a green lawn on the banks of the river Ticino a short distance from the town of Sesto Calende.

We leave the car in a large parking lot and near the river we cross the meadow, we walk a short stretch slightly uphill and we face the Diga Miorina.

An easy path through the woods that in past ages inspired cults and religious rites.
We start from the Somma Lombardo Sports Camp (Coarezza) where we meet the ST / IP trail signs (Strona, a tributary of the Ticino) and follow the path that soon enters the woods. The area is full of visiting routes indicated in the Green Streets. We can admire tall trees such as Scots pine, English oak and red oak, which alternate with chestnut and exotic broad-leaved trees.
