• From Sunday 19^th November 2023 to Saturday 6^th January 2024 - The Tables of Taste

Eight establishments including bars, restaurants and hotels in Sacro Monte and Campo dei Fiori are joining in the collaboration "Tables of Taste." On the streets of Sacro Monte and Campo dei Fiori there will be many events to celebrate the arrival of Christmas. Every Sunday Santa Claus will be at a different venue in the Borgo, find out more. • Friday 29^th December 2023 - Year-end torchlight procession along Chapel Avenu

From 8:30 p.m. on Friday 29^th December the end-of-year torchlight procession returns. It will start from the First Chapel of the Via Sacra to reach the Moses Terrace around 9:30 p.m. The event is organized by the Parish of Santa Maria del Monte supported by the Alpine Group of Varese, in collaboration with the City of Varese. On the occasion of this event, the Baroffio Museum will be exceptionally open.

For the occasion, there will be a free shuttle service with the following times: 

 7:20 p.m.; 7:50 p.m.: from Piazzale De Gasperi to Piazzale Montanari - intermediate stops at Sant'Ambrogio (Prealpi), Velate junction;

10 p.m.; 10:30 p.m.: from Piazzale Pogliaghi to Piazzale De Gasperi - intermediate stops at Piazzale Montanari, Velate junction and Sant'Ambrogio (Prealpi).

• Saturday 6^th January 2024 - Epiphany Concert.

From 6 p.m., at Sanctuary of Santa Maria del Monte the traditional event offered by the City of Varese returns. The Accademia Ensemble will hold the Epiphany Day Concert with music by Mozart. Event with free admission.

• Sunday 7^th January 2024 - The child, the cave and the star

It will be possible at 3.00 p.m. for children to take a special tour to learn about the protagonists of the Christmas stories by observing the artworks in the Baroffio Museum and the ancient Crypt. The event is organized by Archeologistics.

MUSEO BAROFFIO E CRIPTA DEL SANTUARIO

During the Christmas season, the Baroffio Museum and the Crypt of the Sanctuary will exceptionally open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the following days: from Friday 8^th December to Sunday 10^th December, and from Tuesday 26^th December 2023 to Sunday 7^th January 2024.

SACRED MOUNT FUNICULAR

The Sacro Monte funicular will operate on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays until December 24^th 2023 and from Tuesday 26^th December 2023 to Sunday 7^th January 2024.(excluding Christmas and New Year's Day).
