June events in Castiglione Olona

Sunday 2 June

On the occasion of the Republic Day, Sunday, June 2, 2024, at 10:00 AM, the "Civic Baptism" ceremony will be held at the Monteruzzo Castle in Castiglione Olona (Via Marconi, 1). The Mayor and local authorities will deliver copies of the Italian Constitution to the new adults of Castiglione Olona.

Following this, the official ceremony for the presentation of the "Civic Seal" will take place, a public recognition and civic honor for citizens who have significantly contributed to the economic and social development of the city.

Program:

• Greeting from the Mayor and Authorities;
• "Civic Baptism" with the delivery of a copy of the Italian Constitution to the new adults of Castiglione Olona (born in 2006);
• Ceremony for the presentation of the "Civic Seal" to citizens who have particularly distinguished themselves in art, culture, civic engagement, or social solidarity;
• Presentation of retirement certificates and recognitions to deserving citizens and associations;
• Presentation of scholarships to deserving students of the third classes of the Cardinal Branda Castiglioni Secondary School (A.Y. 2022/2023).

The celebrations will be accompanied by the S. Cecilia Musical Band of Castiglione Olona.

Sunday 2 and Sunday 30 June

The "Fiera del Cardinale", a market for antiques and crafts, will be held. The event will take place on Sunday, June 2nd and Sunday, June 30th, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, around Piazza Garibaldi, in the historic center and within the fifteenth-century courtyards. There will be about eighty exhibitors of crafts, antiques, old books, vintage items, collectibles, vinyl records, and hobbyists. There will also be food stalls with typical Sardinian products.

The historical monuments, including Palazzo Branda Castiglioni, the MAP (Plastic Art Museum), and the Museum of the Collegiata, will be open for visits.

The fair will be held even in case of rain, but the presence of all exhibitors is not guaranteed.
