On 18th and 19th November 2023, "Camellia Days," the flower market exhibition held every spring in the garden of Villa Della Porta Bozzolo will be held extraordinarily in the fall and will be dedicated, in this XXVII edition, to Camellia sasanqua: a variety of winter-flowering camellia.
There will be many exhibitors from the territory and beyond who will guide the public to discover this particular specimen. During the days it will be possible to participate in guided tours of the garden by Umberto Giolli, FAI's agricultural areas manager.
Instead, inside the Villa it will be possible to participate in the English tea ceremony, reliving a typically British custom that originated in the 1800s. Visitors will be able to taste green tea and white tea, rich in antioxidant properties and produced in Italy thanks to Camellia sinensis cultivations found on the Piedmont shore of Lake Maggiore.
In addition, it will be possible to visit an exhibition of the cut flower of Camellia sasanqua in the upstairs rooms.
In the Villa's ancient wine cellar, Orsola Poggi, owner with her husband Andrea Corneo of La Camelia d'Oro, will introduce the tasting of four wines-Camellia rosea, Camellia violacea, Camellia rubra and Camellia alba.
By reservation, it will also be possible to participate in the botanical photography workshop led by photographer Marco Beck Peccoz.
