Thursday 14th September 2023 - Telmo Pievani and the Banda Osiris: AcquaDue0 - a very liquid planet

time: 09:00 p.m.

location: Teatro di Varese, piazza della Repubblica 

The Banda Music Osiris, accompanied by the scientific philosopher Telmo Pievani, presents a musical journey through the problems that affect our planet, such as pollution, climate change and the greenhouse effect.

Friday 15th September 2023 - Discovering the Mantegazza Park: a nature trail accompanied by the Gevs of the Municipality of Varese

time: 04:00 p.m.

location: Parco Mantegazza, ingresso parco di via Monguelfo, Varese

The initiative is part of the 'Know Your Heritage' programme; the duration of the tour is 1 hour.

Access is free of charge with compulsory booking on ​​​​​Eventbrite; the maximum number of participants is 30.

 


Friday 15 September 2023Bruno Gambarotta and Giorgio Costa - Sogni notturni: concert with narrator dedicated to the music of Chopin

Saturday 16th September 2023Boiling Mediterranean, a docufilm by Eugenio Manghi

time: 08:30 p.m.

location: Auditorium San Giovanni Bosco, via Lazzaro Papi 7, Varese

The Mediterranean Sea is warming up faster than all the other seas on the planet. The docufilm aims to investigate the causes and consequences of such a rapid and intense increase in temperature, also presenting important comparisons with the Arctic and Antarctic seas. 

The event accompanies the closing of Eugenio Manghi's exhibition "Half a century of photography" hosted at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of the Masnago Castle.

Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th September 2023 - The Butterfly Garden: special exhibition of the Tamagno and Simondetti collections.

location: Museo di Villa Mirabello

The Museum's entomological collection exists thanks to the passion of two great collectors from Varese, Francesco Tamagno and Mario Simondetti, who devoted themselves to the study of butterflies between the 19th and mid-20th centuries.


Sunday 17th September 2023  - Discovering the Estensi Gardens and the Villa Mirabello Park: a nature trail accompanied and organised by the Gevs of the Municipality of Varese

location: Giardini Estensi, via Sacco 5 , Varese

The initiative is part of the 'Know Your Heritage' programme; the duration of the tour is 1 hour.

Sunday 17th September 2023  - Sounds of Armenia: Arsen Petrosyan's duduk, with the participation of Corinna Canzian, Paolo Fumagalli, Giorgio Casati and some students from "the Echi Urbani festival."

time: 09:00 p.m.

location: Salone Estense, via Sacco 5, Varese

Arsen Petrosyan is one of the leading performers of the Armenian dudik, has performed on major international stages and has been a guest on major television networks. The initiative is part of the "Echoes of Nature 2023" festival.
