At first a stronghold of defense near the borders of the Duchy of Milan, the Visconti Castle of San Vito of Somma Lombardo became a noble residence only in 1448, when the brothers Francesco and Guido Visconti settled there.
After various partitions, the property was reunified and then donated, in 1997, to the Visconti di San Vito Foundation, which today deals with the maintenance and perpetuation of the memory of the castle.
Today, the castle is the perfect location for dreamy weddings or refined conferences and conventions. The splendid courtyard enclosed by high walls beyond a large moat is the image of welcome, with an elegant aristocratic flavor.
The location includes large rooms with a total capacity of 400 seats.
The property also includes the Loggia di Castelbarco, which overlooks the unspoilt beauty of the park overlooking the city of Somma Lombardo.
Inside the castle dogs are welcome, if on a leash and medium/ small size.
