Lake Maggiore, Lake Varese and the other lakes

With so many lakes dotted across the province of Varese it is no wonder the area offers unlimited ways to spend marvellous lake-weekends in Varese. Find your perfect place among the tiny fisherman villages along the lombardy shore of Lake Maggiore, or rent a bike to discover the coast of lake Varese. If you prefer the less known places, move to Valganna, a green valley situated not far from the Swiss border: over there you’ll find the small lake of Ghirla, surrounded only by real nature. Otherwise you can swim in the peacefull lake of Monate, in a summer sunset.

Who else loved these places? Celebrated writers such as Piero Chiara and Stendhal have mentioned many times the beauty of the land of Varese: "What a magnificent sight! As the sun set you could see seven lakes. Believe me, you can travel the whole of France and Germany, but you will never experience anything like that."
